Digital Forest Practice
This is my first digital painted scene, a scene from the cgi short I'll be making next semester. This was my first attempt at a landscape, digital painting. I honestly hate it. I think the tree and rock look okay, but the rest of it looks dead, flat, boring. Granted, I didn't exactly take it all to completion, but this I'm not proud of this at all. I'm posting it because I'm keeping a track a record, and if I'm honest with myself, all I can do from here is improve. First thing I've painted in Photoshop though, the actual painting part is pretty fun, I might get addicted.

DrawJam Week #1 | Deep Ocean | 9.17.13
I started a weekly "DrawJam" event at my animation school where all the animators come together and draw for fun, inspiration, and practice! Just a fun time to hang out and make friends and of course, draw! First week's theme was Deep Ocean. These are the drawings I came up with, using reference here and there. It was pretty fun, looking forward to next weeks!

More Digital Revolvers
Working on my revolver some more. The bottom revolver in perspective took me forever to do. Pretty ashamed of how long I spent on it, honestly. But I'm slowly improving, I'm still not used to a tablet at all.

Marlo Booker Character Design
Marlo Booker is a recurring character of mine, and I"m redesigning him for my Character Design I class. I think he's got some serious attitude, but I'm going to keep pushing him and keep working on my drawing skills. Marlo's got six chambers of justice. (The revolver is the same one as my previous post.)

First Digital Painting | Revolver
I guess this is technically my first digital painting, if you could call it that. I'm downright horrible with a tablet, but with more practice I should start turning out much better stuff. I had to make this for my Visual Development class, and this was the first revolver I drew that I didn't finish on paper. For a first attempt, I can't complain.
First Tablet Doodle | TvHead
This is my first real doodle doodle with my Wacom Bamboo tablet. I downloaded a free program called Sai Paint Tool and was messing with it, because I'm too cheap for Photoshop right now. Anyways, classic, TV head. It's gonna take some getting used to this whole tablet thingy.

More Revolvers
After drawing my first double revolver, my professor instructed me to go back and try to improve the design. So I drew some more crazy revolvers, my favorite being the pinwheel design. I spent too much time drawing these, must get faster. Slightly inspired by Borderlands, but the designs are original and I think I have an unhealthy affection for revolvers.

War Looming Doodle
This is a frame from a storyboard assignment I had to draw. We were given fake movie titles and mine was "War Looming." I think this sketch gets the message across: what does it make you think? I kinda like how the dictator character doodle turned out.

Drawing Revolvers | Thunderfist
Thunderfist is what I'm currently calling this badboy. I had this idea in my head for a double stacked revolver, and I had to draw a prop for my Visual Development class, so I decided to plunge into drawing guns. It's actually pretty fun, especially when something with a bad attitude develops.
And here are some of the studies I did of revolvers and their various parts that eventually made their way into my final design. These were just some warm up sketches/design searching drawings based on reference photos I found off the internet.

Rushin' Robot
Businessbot late to work! Trying to go for a slight 1950's, sci-fi vibe. It's also a slight comment on day jobs being mechanical. Had fun drawing it! More of that red pencil.
