Stumped | Layout Progress

Here is a quick test render of some basic layout of my short project, Stumped. It's coming along, I'm almost finished with layout, and am starting to mess with some lighting as I begin to build my more detailed models. It's crazy to see my 2d idea turning into an actual 3d story!

Stumped | Second pass at fishing animation with Roth

This is my second pass at my fishing animation with my Viking boy character, Roth. I feel like this is getting much closer to actually being done. I have been able to help some of my classmates with their own animation as well, and that's exciting to be able to put the skills I'm learning to use for others.

Stumped | First test animation with Roth, the Viking Boy!

I've been working on this exercise for my Character Animation II class. We are finally animating the characters we created last semester! Meet my viking boy, Roth! He's a bit clumsy and mischeivous, but usually has good intentions. Anyways, this is a quick shot of him fishing, and then catching something a little bigger than he bargained for. This is why you don't fall asleep at the pole. THis is a first pass, I still have a lot of smoothing and tweaking to do. Also, the rig is still a work-in-progress as well, there are some weird things going on with his body.

Male Face Practice

It's been a long time since I drew anything with pencils and it shows. I had some freetime so I sat down with a brand new sketchbook my sister bought me for Christmas, pulled up a reference photo, and went to work. This is the result.

Guy Doodle

Quick character doodle, just warming up with my tablet... I hate how bad I am at this.

1920's Knife Vigilante

My brother said I had the same style for everything so I decided to try something different. He prompted me to draw something 1920's gangster related, so I came up with this brawler, knife-wielding vigilante guy. Talk about some rough linework, but it didn't really take me all that long to draw. Plus it was fun.

Speedpaint | Stone Age Hunt

This was a speedpaint challenge I did with a theme of "Stone Age". I had this scene in my head of a rampaging elephant or mammoth charger a warrior. Gotta say, I failed this one pretty hard. Never drew an elephant before, ha. Oh well. This is why I'm practicing.
