Stumped | First Animated Shot Progress!

This is my first pass at my first shot to be animated in Stumped. It's getting there. Animation is a lot of work, this took me a couple of days to get it to this level. But I'll keep plugging away at it. Roth is coming alive! It's pretty amazing breathing life into a character!

The Sound Of Silence | Sketch

Drew this up tonight. My friend requested that I draw an astronaut. He didn't specify whether or not said astronaut had to be alive. This is pretty much what I think about whenever I hear Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence". Drifting in space, lifeless. I was drawing skulls for human head practice and really trying to loosen up on my lines and put more life and energy into them.  I also took up about half a page with this drawing, because drawing big really helps me get my shoulder and elbow into drawing.

Stumped | Environment Update

Here's another preview of Stumped's environment, which is slowly trudging along. I managed to finish my cowskull models, which I'm going to create a variation of, as well as the door model. I also plan on adding cloth that will blow in the wind off of the cowskull sticks. Lately, I've had to do a lot of work on the backend of my workflow, but moving forward I should be able to get a lot more done now. I'm excited.

Gesture Drawings | 2.24.14

Here are this week's gesture drawings. This time, I drew from a live reference, one of my animation classmates. She posed in a lot of interesting ways. All of these drawings were done in a minute, except the very top one, which was probably more around 2 minutes or so. Fun stuff.
And since I forgot to post last week's batch, here are a couple of the best ones. I really like how I used straight lines in the top one and the bottom one's chest feels well constructed to solid to me, the lines around his arms seem interesting to me.

Character Sketches | 2.21.14

I drew these character sketches up, trying to be more gestural with my lines and more accurate/interesting with shapes and anatomy. I dunno. I copied the pirate from a reference image of someone else's better art. The samurai I drew from imagination. Both were pretty fun to draw. Gonna keep on, keepin' on.

Cyberpunk Sketch

Just something I doodled late at night, trying to block out better anatomy and loosen up...I'm still way too  tense though. Fun to build something up though. Gotta love cyberpunk.

Mech Sketch

I drew this sketch of a Titanfall Mech. I used reference but I was in a 'bot drawin' mood. I still need to loosen up. I'm trying to figure out where I'm going wrong with my lines.

Tank Sketch

I drew the tank so I could draw the guy sitting on the tank. Yep. Another sketch, another day.

Aviator Sketch

Quick sketch I decided to do after awhile of not drawing...I have a long ways to go, but I'm slowly learning. Was trying to show a bit of story with this sketch in the fact it has two characters, one being more prominent than the other, and looking off the opposite direction to show distance, as well as size relationship. Basic ideas but I need to practice them nonetheless.

Gesture Drawings | 2.10.14

Another batch of gesture drawings I did for class. I think some of these turned out okay, but I'm still trying to push to get more life, energy, and form into my figures. These types of drawings are pretty fun to do, especially to cinematic music.

GIGN Sketch

This is a sketch I did a couple of weeks ago, I just forgot to upload it. I was trying to be loos and gestural when I drew this GIGN squad guy. I liked how his shoulder started turning out, I was trying to put more energy and life into my drawing...I think this is a step in the right direction. More drawing to come.

Gesture Drawings | 2.3.14

These are some of the better gesture drawings I did for my homework in my Drawing in Motion class. I added some details to the first picture, just for fun. I derived these poses from www.posemaniacs.com, whereas in our class we have a live model. These drawings are actually really fun. I'm working on breathing more life into my drawing, as in the past it's been pretty dead.
